About the Instructor

Jon Mandeville has studied at the Wat Pho Thai Traditional Medical School in Bangkok, Thailand and the Old Medicine Hospital School (Foundation of Dr. Shivagakomarpaj) in Chiang Mai, Thailand. He has studied with several senior teachers from Asokananda's Sunshine Network and has served as a teacher assistant in the Lahu hilltribe village in northern Thailand.

In addition, Jon has studied with Khun
Taragorn Nut, a blind practitioner trained by
the Thailand Caulfield Foundation for the Blind,
and most recently, with Master Pichest Boonthumme
at his residence in Hang Dong, Thailand.

Jon is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider (#450352-07). Beyond his more than 600 hours of diploma study in massage therapy, Jon has completed over 500 hours of formal study exclusively in Thailand. He continues to travel back to Thailand to further his studies.

Before studying this branch of traditional Thai medicine, Jon's background was in
higher education and curriculum development - having received his Master of Arts degree from Florida State University and his Master of Education degree from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. He brings over ten years of college-level teaching experience to the preservation and practice of this ancient healing art.

From 2006 to 2009, Jon was mentored by Jaya Seeley - founder of the Natural Health Institute - and he served as a member of the faculty there until it was acquired by the Genesis Career Group. Currently, Jon teaches and contracts independently in a variety of learning environments in order to preserve this ancient healing tradition.
